where is the brake light switch for a 1960 Chevy truck

on the master cylinder..if not, it is on the pedal linkage..

It is under the dash in contact with the brake pedal arm. When you step on the brake, the pedal moves away from the switch activating the brake lights. Here is a picture.http://partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?MfrCode=NIE&MfrPartNumber=SL31181

if it is not on the front of the master cylinder, then it will be under the dash next to the steering column. it is just a simple plunger type switch. the plunger is activated when you depress the brake pedal.
