I am looking for detailed instructions for troubleshooting and repairing the four wheel drive in my blazer. Fixing it really won;t really be a problem. l really do not know how to trouble shoot it. It just seems like the hubs are not locking. l hear the transfer case motor engage. But, No four wheel....

l know l could just buy the repair manual from autozone. But, I am cheap and l only wanna fix the 4 wheel drive in my winter beater. After all it is not much of a winter beater without it.

The s10 4 wheel drive systems r vacuum activated & most problems with engagement can be traced to 3 possible culprits - leaking vacuum lines, faulty transfer case vacuum switch or faulty vacuum actuator which usually is located under the battery tray. These r all relatively cheap to replace. If u have push button engagement (on the dash) listen for engagement at the transfer case when the button is pushed. If u do not hear it, u may have a problem with ur Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) (a small metal box under the dash) or ur Transfer Case Encoder Motor which is mounted on the side of the transfer case
