Im not gonna be looking for anything new enough to be fuel injected.Probably a 350 or 302 ,Definitaly something carburated, Can you give me an idea of what it would cost working or not?
l am going to rebuild it so it doesnt have to be in good shape just not cracked.l know what to look for and l am going to pull it myself.How much do l offer them

Depends on the mileage of the engine , whether you have to remove it yourself, and whether you pick it up or have it delivered.. You should get one - complete for 2 to 4 hundred $$$$$$$$ Happy hunting !!!!!!

You need to be careful with buying a 20 year old v8. After sitting that long u typically do not just throw one in a car & drive it. l usually tear them down & replace rings, main bearings, have the cylinder honed etc. You just never know the condition. But around Missouri u can buy a decent v8 shortblock for around $200 up, again depending on the condition & whats included. Plus u have to look at what u plan to put it in, motor mounts may need to be moved/modified to fit a different manufacturers motor. Good luck.

spend the extra and get a crate engine it will be the same price in the long run, by the time you get one and rebuild it etc yada yada yada.And with the crate engine you know it will work there is a reason those engines are in the junk yard.year one has them . no l do not work there

Ask the junkyard to see if you can buy a demolition derby car engine! Good luck.

In GA. rebuildable cores goes for $75-150 for 2 bolt main engines and $150-225 for 4 bolt main

Running engines are $300-500 unless it is a vortec then they sell for $800-1200
