Pacesetters are very popular with the Fbody guys. Not as nice as Kooks or any other high priced header but for the $$$ they're a damn good buy. Go for it :)

Are you getting the off road Y-pipe or the Y-pipe with cats?

If you do not have to worry about emissions then go for it, they will give you more HP and better fuel mileage, l put long tube headers on my ZO6 and had to get shunts to fool the O2 sensors so l could pass state inspection emissions.

l looked around, & although Pacesetters r damn fine headers, l can solidly recommend BBK headers for the LT1.

l have a '95 Z28, & l already had the 3'' Borla exhaust. When it came time to put headers on the car, l went with the BBK's, since l heard some good stories about the fit & finish.

l was very glad l went with them. They went in without any interferences whatsoever, with the only modification necessary being the removal of the plastic shield on the steering shaft. They will come with either the y pipe necessary for the dual exhaust or, if you're stuck with the single pipe, all u need to do is cut the existing pipe back about 6'' & it will fit perfectly. l deleted this step by running a new 3'' high flow catalytic with the whole assembly. l bought mine from Summit at about the same price as the Pacesetters. They came in the chrome finish, & so far they've blued in nicely, without any problems.

They also have the provisions for full emissions legality (bungs for the EGR). Do not bother thinking about deleting the EGR function - u will only run into problems if you're running it on the street. BBK forgot to send the proper pipe fitting when they sent my headers, & a call to their tech line solved it no problem - the correct part was shipped two days later.

Pacesetters r junk, they will bang the floor board, hit the steering shaft, & have bad plug access. 400+ Dollars r not that great.

Headers to stick with on LT1 is r Kooks, SLP, AS&M, then Hookers.

Longtubes have a little less ground clearence than shortys & mid lengths, but make more power.

Primary size on a LT1 needs to be atleast 1 3/4 inch.
