Can you put a lt1 or ls1 engine in a 1997 camaro rs 3.8L? ?

l wanna know if it is possible with out costing a lot just to get it in. Also the best fit a lt1 or a ls1. And what l would need to change.

Both would be fairly straightforward swaps. Your best bet is to get an engine/trans/ECM out of a donor car and swap it all in as a unit, to avoid the problems from cropping up. The engine electrical harness is needed for the v8, and getting it all from one place is the most cost-effective and lowest-problem solution.

For the LS1, you may need to swap oil pans, and monkey around with some minor clearance issues, depending upon where the donor engine came from.
