l am trying to get a new car and im tryin to get the fastest one possible. l know the gto has more stock horsepower than any of them. but im in love wit corvettes and l dont mind a trans am but between the three which one would be worth buying and adding parts to make the fastest thing around?
p.s. im not trying to be spending no more than 17000 thats y l want a 05-06 gto or 98-02 corvette

trans am should not even be on ur list. They r okay cars, but they r not anything spectacular.

A GTO has some nice power, but style flaws that do not really grab much attention.

Corvettes will get a lot of attention all the time, they have good power, better handling than a gto or trans am.

In reverse order, those r the most expensive to maintain.

Ultimately, it is completely up to you, but I'd suggest getting a GTO just for maintenance fees & the raw power that it has, if u have the $$$, get the corvette, its slightly better in my personal preference. The trans am should not be considered.but u should consider the new Camaro coming out next year, that will be something possibly worth spending the money on.

build yourself a shelby ac cobra clone with late model gm power. None of the others you are considering have enough power to be considered anything but the wife is car. Style will not make it run any faster.

For the budget that you are on, l would go with the 00 T/A. The GTOs (which is what l currently own) are great cars but repairs are not cheap and the aftermarket is limited (also expensive). The T/A and the Vette is are pretty much the same car ( l acknowledge the body differences, but not much else), so save some cash, get a good condition T/A. And at that price you should be able to pick up a go fast part or two.
