u have to use the 4.3 engine mounts . l know this because u use 4.3 mounts when installing a v-8 in a s-10.Mine had a 2.5 engine so l had to change them over to the 4.3 mount . l put in a 302..chevy v-8 & a 700-r4 transmission in a 88 s-10 & is the same other than the steering column is closer to the engine on the 87 & older s10.. so u might have a clearance problem between the steering shaft & the exhaust manifold. chevy moved in in 88 models the first year that the 4.3 v-6 was in the s-10 /s-15..

The 4.3 and the chevy small block 350 have the same motor mounts, so find someone that has some off a 350 and there you go. The 2.5 will not work on the 4.3. Remember that the 4.3 is a 350 with the back two cylinders cut off. Same block.
