OKay. l know a little about cars and my dads a mechanic of 20yrs. Ive changed the Fuel Filter. Cleaned and Changed the IAC twice. There is Plenty of Pressure in the fuel lines. Dist. plugs and wires are new. l start the car and when it gets to time for idle the car dies out. l dont get it. Can someone try to help me?

check the wiring harness that runs to the fuel injectors..i have a car with a 3.1 engine that did the same thing and it was the harness. the engine heat bakes it and causes breaks and shorts in it .

Have you called Dad? You may also call the GM tech line and ask them. Other then that give it 2 aspirin and call me in the morning.

When l read your question .it dawned on me that this would be a great time to let your dad help you. Anyway..if you changed the fuel filter and the pressure is good..then.if fuel injected..your injectors are plugged..if its carborated..a simple cleaning and adjustment may be in order. Start talking with your dad.tell him that you need his help.

CHECK YOU'RE THROTTLE BODY OR CARB. WIRING MAY BE DISCONNECTED OR MAY HAVE A FREY. AND CHECK LINKAGES BETWEEN THROTTLE BODY AND TRANY. AND HAVE YOU'RE IGNITION CHECKED

It could be a bunch of things. Do you have access to a scanner to see what all the sensors are telling you? It could be the coolant temp sensor, it could be a bad MAF sensor, the ignition module could be going, the VATS(the little chip in the key) box could be going etc. It could be a million things. You better call your dad and ask for his help.
