You should check to see if your fuel rail lost its prime.All of the duramax diesel engines have this problem at times.When you open the hood find the fuel filter on the passenger side rear of the engine.On the buttom of the fuel filter there is a manual pump button.Push up on this button till its firm to push.If your fuel rail lost prime this will reprime the rail and allow the engine to start.Best of luck.

l have had one of these about a month ago and found a bad fuel pump. Also 01 is had a bad problem with injectors bleeding off.
