l wanna keep the stock 305 for show purposes but would like to know if there are any stroker kits for it and are there any performance upgrades for it? l will use holley ''lowrider'' carb. any help would be appreciated. if more info is needed please let me know...:)

There is no sense in stroking a 305.They r ok for a street application,but make no horse power any where else.It is Chevy is pig of pigs. l & a friend of mine spent countless hours trying to get the 305 into racing form.Our dyno runs never had the results we were looking for.the 283,302,and 307 run circles around the 305.even with the extensive modifications we did,rod length,pistons,cranks,heads & such we could not get the needed foot pounds of torque that the even smaller motors can produce.We finally came to the conclusion that the 305 is good for getting the groceries & that is it. l am not knocking ur motor,i am just telling u what l know after spending thousands of dollars trying to make the 305 into a all out race motor. l would say go ahead & dress it up but do not waste ur money trying to make it bad!

Yes you could .. but why the 305 is not a good engine to use as a high performance engine a 350 looks exactly the same will go in with very little effort it has better heads 45 more cubic inches and l believe
is a direct replacement there is a reason they dont make a bunch of hi-po parts for a 305 even though they share the same block 265 283 327 305 350 all interchange all same

Yes, you can put a 400 crank into a 305, bringing the cubic inches up to around 335. Look at the top of page 7 here -http://enginekits.com/ek/RetailCatalog.pdf
