The state told me that a VIN # is stamped on the frame of every vehicle.l have a home made car made on a 1976 Chevy pick up frame.The body has been junked, so the vin # went with it.So to get a new title, l need the VIN off the frame to get a new title.l hope someone can help me.Thanks

Your local Chevy dealer should be able to tell you exactly where it is on this model. You may be able to get a new number with a state police inspection and a new title stating it is an assembled vehicle. Good luck.

There is no VIN# on the frame.Newer vehicles do, not the old ones.You can have a state inspection done and just register it a custom car.
