im installing an aftermarket reciever its a clarion duz.

ok so l pulled the dash and everything the way l need to but when l plug in the clarion radio into my 05 malibu it makes all of my gauges go down and shut my car off a few times. my stock radio had controls like temp,mpg etc in it. could that be the promblem that the new one doesnt? or can you help?

l believe you have to get a special kit to hide the factory radio it controls some of the computer functions other than the radio. Some of my truck customers have to put the radio under there seat to keep everything running.

You must buy a module that tricks the factory system to think the radio is still installed or remote mount the old radio. The radio is part of the cars network and needs to see it or sh*t do not work.
