you can check with the web site for ---goldenstatepickups.com . l do believe 1/3rd of the amount of trucks made in 56 were automatics. there were alot of them. l can t be sure of the exact numbers . l looked for you but, found nothing related to the actuall prodution numbers for these trucks. you may have to do a bit more digging on this one to get what you want.

There were almost no records kept by GM on truck production. To my knowledge the only production records differentiate the Cameo & sedan delivery production. The other 342,612 built in '56 were lumped into a single category with no option records including all 3100-3800 series trucks in every cab/chassis configuration, even Suburbans & panel trucks. The only thing that u can tell from ur VIN# is that it was originally a V8, 3100 series, built at the Atlanta plant & was #12028 built.
