l have a chevy malibu maxx. and l am having problems with the keyless remote. when l push the lock button it takes forever for the car to respond. l put a new battery in it but it still does the same thing. any ideas?

The remote is defective maybe , it can also be your car is computer.
get it checked out by a tech.

Check the soldered connections for the battery retainer inside the remote. GM had a batch that did not have enough solder on the connection to the integrated circuit board and the solder joints failed. This gives an intermittent connection until the battery retainer fails completely and pops off.
We have a 2006 Malibu Maxx and l resoldered the connections myself with one of those small hobby torches. The dealer wanted a shyteload for a new one.
