Alright, a few days ago l asked if my rusted Z28 would support my 402 BBC and got ripped apart. Decided the next best vehicle would be a old S10 (preferably a solid front axle so l can remove some leaf springs). Need something with a frame for this motor, it is worked and ready for a contendor who can handle it.

How much does a short bed, single cab S10 weigh (be a help and mention what motor it is please) weigh? Really pushing my luck, but if you know the weight of it without a motor or trans (or even fully gutted with or without motor and trans... please mention motor or no motor).

l wanna see just how light the truck is, l plan on gutting it, slapping a worked TH350 trans and 402 BBC in it. Got a set of 16 or 18 inch wide drag radials that l pray can keep the wheel spin down a tad. l wanna get the truck to about 3000 lbs or less with the trans, cage and big block (of course fully gutted, 1 seat, fiberglass hood, fiberglass quarter panels, and maybe in the future fiberglass bed).

'86 2.2 L motor, tranny and evrything else = 3000 lbs +/- 50 lbs.

l had a 95 s10 regular cab no option s10 pick up with a small block 350 and th350 trans and it weighed 3200lbs also. l really didnt have to do anything to the front suspention from the 4banger it held up the engine fine and looked stock. l guess it was only like 90lbs higher.

if you have a s10 just go ahead and lean on the front end or stand on it. youll see itll only go down a inch or so so itll be fine. a little hard to keep on the road sometimes but very fun

mine weighs 4200lbs 4cyl auto. just so you know s10 pick ups do not have leaf spring front axles they coil springs between control arms just like older camaros and chevelles
