My 94 chevy S10 blazer the in line gas filter will not come off it is rusted on both ends and l got it to turn a little but started to twist gas line how can l get this stupid thing off

Spray Liquid Wrench on both ends. Take an end wrench and lightly tap both ends. Work around the ends in a circle, while tapping. Spray them again,and let it set for a while. When you go back, wipe the area down, and try to take the filter loose.

First of all if you continue to force it off you will damage the fuel lines even more, at this point use some WD-40 on the connections and give it some time break up the rust turn it very slow, if it still does not break free remove the complete line off from both sides of the filter and soak it in fuel over night this might save you money from damaging the lines and have to pay for new ones. Liquid wrench just might work. l would usually suggest using heat, but l am not too sure because it might spark a fire. If nothing helps, use a heat gun, but have a fire extinguisher on hand. Try beating it or wobbling it back & forth until it comes out.

There is no use in putting WD40 on it. WD40 is not a penetrating oil, it is used to remove water. It will not do anything to rust. WD stands for Water Displacement.

If all fails, take off everything & replace the whole system. Or just take off the gas line & take it apart.

This sounds a little counter-intuitive, but run with me...

After u spray in a penetrant (while WD40 works well, I'd suggest Liquid Wrench, or better yet, Kroil), wait an hour. Go back, wipe it down, spray it again, wait an hour, then spray it again. You know where l am going with this - the longer u let that stuff work, the better ur chances are.

Then, try two things. First - rap on the fitting several times, fairly hard, but not violently. Try to loosen it. If that does not work, try to TIGHTEN the fitting slightly. Sometimes u can ''crack'' the rust by tightening the fitting toward the unrusted bit. If the fitting moves slightly, then u should be able to back the fitting up.

If that does not work, u may be faced with possibly having to cut & reflare the gas line. Its not as scary as it sounds - u can get repair kits & sections of tubing from a decent auto parts place. Just be prepared to drain a lot of gas if u have a full tank..
