The power steering has been going out on my Cobalt for a few months now.It is electric, so there is no power steering fluid.There are so many other things wrong with it right now (Elect problems with the windows, gear shift probs where the key would not come out, the AC know fell off) that l think l should cut my losses and trade it in.
I am worried about not getting much for it, the warranty just ran out last year and I've had it for 3 years.
Any advice?

these cars are throw away cars.worth the trade before anything else happens to it. and if there is no warrenty left you should def trade it in.

unfortunately if you're outside the warranty, there is not too much you can do.
did you happen to buy an extended warranty?

there is a toll free 1-800 number to GM, but based on the condition they are in with the bailout, you're probably not going to be successful with any kind of after the fact assistance

i'd say u need to cut your losses..i work for enterprise fleet
they have tightened up on the assistance they give us big time

these are bad cars!

If you get me your vin number l can check there has been a bulletin on the power steering so it may have a recall. The knob can be fixed easily as can the key problem in most cases. With the vin l can email you a report on what under recall.
