About every summer l have to replace the transmission mount on my car, it has a B&M shift kit in it is that normal to have to replace it
it has a small block 350 comp cam edelbrock 650 cfm car and edelbrock intake headers, its the 700r tranny, nothing is flexing or loose, l just have to put a mount on it every summer cuz it breaks in half. l was thinking its because of the shift kit, it does shift hard going into second when u get on it
yea l no it doesnt have leaf springs, l think its prolly cuz im hard on it cant keep my foot out of the gas, the motor mounts are tight, prolly juss cheap auto zone parts thas all

not enough info... which trany? motor?does it have a stall.is something flexing under load? sry wish l could help you, need to rewrite question in details about all u know underneath car..

if it has that tork arm from the rear-end its possible with cheap non performance shocks or woreout swingarm bushings that the tires r trying to wheel hop like bounceing when u burn out..(that tork arm mount never lives long :). anywayz a sports package suspension would fix that.BUT l have never seen that particular rubber mount ever last long behind any 350+..as for the other trans mount in the center of the crossmember..just a crazy sugestion.. hold hand brake while car is on a lift place in gear give it throttle with center mount loose Tighten it while its under alil preasure it may move about 1/2 inch.also may show u what else is could be moving!

l would check the engine mounts, if the engine is moving too mush it could rip the rubber mount on the transmission!

I've had several vehicles that shifted hard, but have never encountered a habitual problem with the trans mount. Engine mounts would cause that. Also, ur axle might be experiencing spring wrap. l believe that is a leaf spring set up on that vehicle. What happens is, when u accelerate, ur axle tries to spin. This causes ur pinion to raise straight up. In extreme cases of spring wrap, ur pinion will twist up enough to cause ur driveshaft to pull straight up on the rear of ur transmission. As the pinion raises, ur pinion angle gets sharper & the u-joint angle is constantly trying to straighten back up. This acts like a giant 5 foot long cheater pipe prying up on the rear of ur trans. That would definitely shred a rubber mount on a regular basis. A cheap set of traction bars should fix that problem.

Check your motor mounts like someone else said. Do you keep replacing the mount with a crap rubber one? Try going with a poly one next time. Do not both doing what the previous poster said, your car does not have leaf spring suspension.

It is odd that you keep busting mounts, you're not making a ton of power, definitely check the motor mounts like already stated.

It is not the hard shift thats breaking the mount.

That is a common prob on the 82-02 F body cars.

Most of the times, it is due to other mounts/bushing worn and letting parts flex.

Check/replace the engine mounts and torque arm bushing.

Ten use a poly trans mount, not a cheap rubber one. The poly trans mount is less than 20 bucks ad much stronger.

l would also use a poly torque arm bushing too
